the man. the legend.

3 years ago today was when one of the greatest guys i've ever met left us to go on to bigger and better things. coach kernodle was the most amazing guy! so selfless and he loved his soccer players and his family so much. i remember when he would sit in his chair and yell things at us. i can picture him saying my name "kenz! get those knees up." all the hills he made us run. he would just sit and laugh at how ridiculous all us girls were together. he wouldn't ever comment, just sit and laugh. i can picture his little green chair he also sat in. but he loved us, so much, and i loved him. i can't kick a soccer ball without thinking of him. he changed my life. there aren't words to express how much i love him or how much i miss him. but i know i'll be able to see him again one day. can't even wait! he knew a lot about soccer but he taught us more than that. i learned so much about life and living life from coach k. and his son sam, with his curly hair, is the cutest kid!! i remember just sitting at the field watching him roll down the hill. i'll never forget my senior year. when we dedicated the season to him. the man. the legend. he's on our sweatshirts. he has his own hill. a hill that we ran after every game to touch his name at the top. coach k. we played every game for him that season. as well as for us. we got the letter K printed on our jerseys, and i still have mine. i never had him as a teacher but i would go into his classroom every day and just talk to him. he was a great friend, role model, soccer coach, and teacher. before he died, he was organizing a soccer clinic for young kids in the neighborhood. and we still continue that tradition for him. everyone that knew him, loved him. you couldn't not love him. i owe him so much. he taught us more than he probably knew! he was so funny, always cracking jokes and being sarcastic. he is missed, a lot, by anyone that knew him.
love you noods!

after we ran the clinic that he organized.
